Extracts from the Memoirs of "Lord Greystoke"
Genre Science fiction / Fantasy
Type Novelette
Series Wold Newton Universe
Parts of the fictional memoirs of Lord Greystoke, aka. Tarzan, supposedly written by Lord Greystoke himself and edited by Philip José Farmer.
This novelette is not an extract from Tarzan Alive as stated by several sources (including by William Contento in his Index to Science Fiction Anthologies and Collections 1977-1983), it is completely new!
DESCRIPTION:
From the foreword by PJF: "This is the only valid example of the first-person reporting by a feral man himself ... written by a man who was raised from the age of one by beings halfway on the scale of evolution between the great apes and modern man ... this is the only account that I have ever read which gives an insight into what it is like to be a feral man. It tells in authentic detail just how he was raised; it gives the mundane details, in short, the days in the life of a truly wild man. It also offers some insight into the psychology of a human raised by nonhumans. Or, to be exact, a human raised by creatures as close to beasts as the humans."
