Genre Science Fiction / Crime
Type Novelette
Series
-
Rewritten and cut without Philip José Farmer’s permission. The story was "ruined" according to Phil. With the publication in 2006 the text was restored to the original story.
See also "Planet Pickers", an earlier and uncompleted draft of this story.
DESCRIPTION:
Raspold is an agent of the Federation Extra-Terrestrial Criminal Apprehension Bureau (FECAB). He gets the order to bring in the criminal Heinrich Nge, who has stolen the Federation destroyer George A. Custer. For that he had to go to "that dark planet beyond the rim of the Galaxy." Raspold did find Nge there, but also something else, something unexpected.
