Hunter’s Moon
Genre Mainstream
Type Short story
Series -
Originally written in the 1940s, but only published after its rediscovery in Farmer's archives.
Phil: "This is one of the 4 or 5 stories I wrote before I sold my first published story, "O'Brien and Obrenov". I sent these 4 or 5 to Whit Burnett, editor, with his wife, of the literarily prestigious periodical, Story. Whit liked my submissions, but his wife didn't. I put them all in the trunk."
DESCRIPTION:
A man, a teacher, in a small town wrongly accused of perverse behavior. He is strong, and wants to 'fight back', but is he strong enough to withstand the accusations?
Paul Spiteri in his introduction: "Psychologically driven and laden with Freudian imagery, a vivid picture of small town life and the hypocrisy that draws parallels with Phil's 1960 novel Fire and the Night."
